Secular officiant services/premarital counseling
Secular officiant services/premarital counselingHumanist celebrants are approved by the American Humanist Society to legally perform marriages in all 50 states. I am willing to travel within a 75 mile radius of Durham, NC. My services work well for non-religious couples, interfaith couples who do not wish to have a religious ceremony, religious couples who prefer to have secular ceremonies and couples who have their own unique sense of spirituality. I specialize in officiating secular (non-religious) weddings, unions, elopements, vow renewals, and engagement ceremonies. Whether you’re looking for something quick in your own living room, garden, or park or something traditional in a wedding venue, I will help you create a beautiful, warm and intimate ceremony that reflects who you and your partner are as a couple. I am based in Durham and serve the Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill areas and surrounding counties within a 75 mile radius of Durham. (If you are having a destination wedding at the beach or mountains and wish to bring your own officiant, please contact me to discuss pricing). I am a psychologist, professional writer and experienced public speaker who is warm, funny, flexible, easy to work with and well-organized; I am also deeply committed to inclusion and diversity and open to all types of unions. As a licensed Clinical Psychologist, I am also available to do expert pre-marital counseling to help ensure that your marriage starts off on the best footing. During the current COVID-19 pandemic, I have done many “tiny weddings” for couples who have had to change or postpone their wedding plans but still want to be married on their original date. These weddings, to me, are a statement of human resilience and I have been so pleased and honored to do them. I am also fully vaccinated.
