Hopsewee Plantation is a wedding venue located in Georgetown, SC. Situated on the banks of the North Santee River, northeast of Charleston, the grounds of this riverfront estate abound with walking trails and natural-growing vegetation. The centerpiece of the property is its manor house. The house is set in a clearing and surrounded by a close-cut lawn. The building features a two-story front porch, louvered window shutters on the first and second floors, painted wood siding, and a gabled rear entrance. The River Oak Cottage, which offers lunch and tea service, is the newest addition to the property. The venue’s manor house is constructed on a brick foundation and includes a full-brick cellar. The manor’s first and second-floor rooms open onto broad central halls. The interior walls are made of black cypress, and the floors are made of heart pine boards of variable width. The grounds are dotted with live oaks and provide a number of spaces for celebrating and socializing. Hopsewee Plantation has facilities for indoor and outdoor wedding events, including ceremonies, elopements, receptions, and rehearsal dinners. Indoor seating is available in the River Oak Cottage. Event catering, including the supply of beer and wine, is provided by the venue. A range of dining options is available. The Cottage’s menu includes blue cheese and spinach quiche, crab cakes, and gumbo. Food items are prepared on-site by the Cottage’s gourmet cook. Hopsewee Plantation offers a range of wedding and elopement packages. Wedding packages include six-hour property rental and two hours of access on the day preceding the ceremony.
