The farmhouse originally belonged to abolitionists Anna and Cornelius Houghtelin and was the headquarters for General Merritt during the Civil War. Most historically, this property is known for being the site of General Merritt's encampment during the Battle of Gettysburg and is a privately owned part of the Gettysburg South Cavalry Battlefield. With time, the property became a bed and breakfast. With an expansive ground and three buildings on-site, this is the perfect opportunity to make the wedding of your dreams come true. The 1820’s Historic Barn, which houses a dressing room, can host a guest count of 140. The Solarium is a beautiful venue with a lot of natural light, cathedral ceiling and chandeliers. The fireplace in the Solarium was designed by Victorian architect Frank Furness. This is an ideal space for a ceremony or reception with a capacity of 79 guests.
