A Place to Let Your Vision Grow
Situated in Kansas City, MO, The Magnolia at Brookside is a wedding venue with mid-century architecture and a contemporary feel. Walking through the space couples will find elements from the past, with details reminiscent of Art Deco throughout. The design of the venue was crafted with the intention that it stands out while still being adaptable to the couple’s vision. In this locale, lovebirds can celebrate in a way that is true to them. Deborah Whitebird-Griffith is the enthusiastic individual who owns Magnolia Events. The company encompasses two venues, The Magnolia at Brookside and Magnolia Venue & Urban Garden. She is originally from Guthrie, Oklahoma, and is a proud member of the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes of the state. Many of her family members are known for their artistic talents and she is no exception. She carries these skills into her current business. The name for the company comes from the magnolia tree that grew outside her home in Oklahoma. These trees grow slowly, which to her represents how with patience things bloom. She believes that everyone should follow their passions, which for her has always been events and design. Deborah enjoys arranging get-togethers of all manners, from weddings to baby showers. She also carefully keeps track of trends, her design-sense proving its worth when her home was included multiple times in publications. The Magnolia at Brookside is spacious with an airy vibe. There is a dressing room for your convenience. This also gives you and your wedding party the chance to mingle before you take your walk down the aisle. Inside, the event space spans 5,000 square feet while outside there is a 2,000 square-foot garden. Seated gatherings held in the venue can be accommodated for up to 200 while up to 160 can be in the garden for ceremonies. Wood flooring and string lights create a charming atmosphere for “I dos” and dancing alike. The details throughout the space help to make for an unforgettable wedding.
