Cultivating Love While Innovating the Community
Cultivating Love While Innovating the CommunityThe Redd on Salmon Street is an industrial wedding venue located in Portland, OR. This destination is committed to environmental stewardship and aiding in developing Portland’s local food culture. The venue hosts stunning weddings and fosters environmental and social programs in the community. Featuring large event spaces and intimate function rooms, it is ideal for celebrations of many sizes and styles. Nestled in the historic Central Eastside neighborhood, The Redd on Salmon Street is comprised of two warehouses dating back to the early 20th century. One of its buildings once housed the Hesse-Ersted Ironworks foundry, a staple of Portland’s industrial past. The current venue was established by Ecotrust, an organization that aims to enhance the region through community engagement and environmental awareness. This venue gives back to the city by linking restaurants and food businesses in the area to local farmers and producers. In revitalizing the Pacific Northwest’s food culture, they also support the economy and foster relationships between companies in the metro area and the countryside. What was previously the ironworks warehouse is now an industrial-chic venue that offers both indoor and outdoor event spaces. The open-air plaza runs alongside the building for an entire city block. Flanked by two red warehouses, it provides many opportunities for photoshoots with a modern backdrop. It also has a stage area and a covered patio for entertainment. Inside, the Main Hall is a popular choice for weddings. This spacious setting features both modern and historic fixtures, giving weddings a distinct flair. A massive metal stamping press pays homage to the building’s history, while contemporary lighting and tall windows bring the room into the 21st century. The plaza and hall can be connected to extend events to both areas. The Main Hall can accommodate weddings of up to 450 guests for seated dining service or 670 for a cocktail reception. Its 8,000 square feet of space is ideal for hosting large events, though it can be sectioned off to suit small gatherings. Outside, the plaza and patio can be used separately or together. The patio is ideal for rehearsal dinners, farewell brunches of 50 guests, or even ceremonies of up to 75 attendees. The plaza boasts 22,000 square feet, making it suitable for tremendous events of 1,000 guests. It is also available for seated weddings of 600.
