Blending History and Nature Under Starry Skies
Located in Pray, MT, Chico Hot Springs is a hotel that hosts wedding ceremonies and receptions. Nestled on 800 acres of rolling Montana land with a backdrop of mountains, this historic property blends country charm with modern amenities. Boasting two open-air hot spring pools and gorgeous accommodation options, couples who choose this venue will exchange vows in a truly exceptional location. The hotel dates back to 1900 when it originally opened as The Chico Warm Springs Hotel. It became extremely popular with guests who came to the area to seek their fortunes in the nearby goldmines. In 1914, after Dr. George A.Townsend came to work on-site to preach the benefits of natural hot springs, a hospital wing was added to the property. Over the following years, the raucous dance hall parties and on-site hunting groups dwindled as the hotel transitioned into a health spa. The site was sold after the death of its founders and was briefly abandoned before being rescued in 1973. With passionate new owners and an innovative head chef, the hotel was revitalized and became the thriving business as it stands today. The hot springs remain an intrinsic feature of the property, and are used as an eco-friendly way to heat the buildings on site. The venue maintains much of its original features, spread out across the events spaces on the grounds. Couples who are hosting an intimate celebration may choose to celebrate in the Wine Cellar, which also boasts a private outdoor deck. For those who enjoy an alfresco experience, an open-air Garden Pavillion is available, set beside the natural hot springs creek. Offering glorious garden views, this space can accommodate up to 40 guests. For larger affairs, couples could choose the Convention Center, which boasts exquisite details such as a river-rock fireplace, and a front porch for the cocktail hour. The Chico Hot Springs caters to all ceremony types, providing a luscious outdoor location with a glorious mountain skyline. An experienced Event Coordinator will be on-hand to assist couples with logistics such as the event timeline and menu selection. The dedicated team at this resort understands that the day is about realizing the vision of the newlyweds-to-be, and welcomes outside vendors and planners. Cuisine and beverages will be provided by the on-site culinary team, who work with fresh, locally-sourced produce, including ingredients from their own gardens. Paired with a selection of vintages from the wine cellar, couples and guests alike are sure to be delighted with this fabulous fare.
