Since the National Nordic Museum opened in 1980, it has been internationally recognized for its work to collect and preserve cultural artifacts, and educate visitors. The board of directors and staff demonstrate the legacy of immigrants from the five Nordic countries of Sweden, Norway, Iceland, Finland, and Denmark. This team strives to maintain a community space to experience culture and for special events. Weddings held in the Museum vary, with single-faith, interfaith, non-religious ceremonies, and more conducted on the grounds or within one of the indoor spaces. The East Garden offers an intimate and verdant outdoor space for up to 35 seated or 60 standing. The 3,000-square-foot Sun Terrace is a contemporary setting and excellent outdoor space for up to160 seated guests or 375 standing. The 3rd Floor Lounge offers a balance between exterior and interior space with room for up to 40 seated guests or 75 standing. The Museum is built around the Fjord Hall, which offers lighting, audio system, and object exhibitions for up to 375 standing guests. The largest space is the 4,200-square-foot Osberg Great Hall, designed with acoustics in mind. The eastern sliding glass wall offers the majestic sight of the Sun Terrace for up to 280 seated guests or 400 standing. Wheelchair-accessible features open up this building to all guests with accessibility and equity being institutional priorities for the Museum. These include wheelchair loans and four complimentary ADA spaces in the Museum parking lot. You and any event planners will have access to this venue’s preferred vendor list for your convenience.
