Historical Home on a Working Farm
Martingayle Plantation is a wedding venue located in Shorter, AL. This working farm is surrounded by 650 private acres, giving couples an intimate, secluded space to exchange their vows. Soon-to-be-weds will have plenty of room to host their big day as mature pecan trees, grazing cattle, and open fields surround their celebration. Your day will begin in the two get-ready rooms—the Guesthouse and The Main House—for you and your wedding party to prepare for the altar in comfort. The main house is elegantly decorated with over 4,000 square feet of antiques and decor. You can then make your way to the large clubhouse which offers 6500 square feet of space that is climate-controlled with a kitchen area and restrooms. Also available is a brick patio with a crackling fireplace for soon-to-be-weds to enjoy their pre-wedding gatherings. Behind the main house is a 16-acre pond serving as a beautiful backdrop for your wedding. There are multiple areas to have the ceremony. Come take a tour and we can show you the many options. Martingayle features overnight accommodations for you and your wedding party. Unique Brahman Cattle and horses are present onsite for couples to incorporate into their photo sessions. We also offer a second venue option on Lake Martin. The venue overlooks the Lake and is perfect for events with 50 or less guests.
