Embracing the Natural World on Your Big Day
Ventura Botanical Gardens is a unique outdoor wedding venue located in Ventura, CA. These gardens are found in Grant Park, a stunning plot of land set in the hills above City Hall. This venue is open all year for couples who want to embrace the beauty of the world around them on their special day. The gardens stretch across almost 107 acres, and planting on this land is an ongoing process. Plans for the Ventura Botanical Gardens were first drawn up in 2005 by a group of local residents. They wanted to create a space that celebrated all of the flora that their area had to offer, as well as more exotic plants. It plans to feature gardens that showcase plants from the world’s five different Mediterranean climate zones. Alongside its capacity as an event center, it will also contain space for educational incentives, laboratories, and a book and gift shop. Funding the gardens is a community endeavor, and shows the high regard in which this venture is held. From its elevated position, Ventura Botanical Gardens has a panoramic view of the surrounding environment, including mountains, the coast, and vast green areas. This space is known as Summit Plateau, where views stretch as far as the Channel Islands. The California sun can provide warm golden light for wedding photos, casting the whole day in a romantic glow. An evening ceremony can enjoy the spectacular sunset colors of the sky while the couple exchanges their heartfelt vows. An outdoor wedding venue, Summit Plateau welcomes celebrations of up to 350 guests. Other spaces are available across the gardens, to suit more intimate gatherings. These can be reserved for additional days before and after the event, to ensure that couples have plenty of time for setup and cleanup. Guests with a green thumb can delight in the wonderful landscaping and planning that goes into making this venue as special as it is.
